La Cereza (The Cherry) is a community wet mill, research centre, and eco-farm located in the lush green hills above San Augustin, Huila. From here, Felipe Ospina processes coffees from surrounding farms, runs training courses, and carries out experiments to make coffee tastier and more sustainable.
His Sweet & Flowers regional blend is made up of the production from hundreds of small-holder producers in San Augustin. The Idea behind the blend was to ensure that these producers could receive a profitable price for their coffee instead of being forced to sell it for a lower price on the commodity market. San Augustin is very famous for producing exceptional coffee. In 2019 alone 31 of the 40 Cup of Excellence coffees were from San Augustin! Each lot making up this blend has been processed and cupped separately before being blending by Felipe and his team
